The last weekend of August

Such a boring title I know. 

Anyway, we have had quite a good weekend.

We had a hearty breakfast at this cute Portside Café located at the Wynyard Quarter.

Then we took AJ on the tram (again! For the 3^rd time OMG!).  He loves it since the last times so there he has it.  This time, we went round and round for 1 hour, and then concluded our Saturday outing with a bubble gum flavoured ice cream.  That was our first time trying out this flavour and oh~my~god, we all loved it!  It reminds me of the ice-cream I had in my teens, you know, from those mobile cake/bread van that goes around the suburb in the afternoon (are they still around these days?).  I have been hunting for this flavour for the longest time!

It was a day with animals on Sunday.  We brought AJ to his first pet expo since he likes animals.  He got intimidated by large size doggies.  He didn’t even dare to touch them no matter how cute/gentle/friendly the dog looks (think about the gorgeous golden retriever, how could anyone not like them?) but hiding behind me.  LOL.  And out of all animals we saw, Athan showed special interest on turtle!  There, a peek to our potential future pet candidate! 

We ended our excursion with luscious dim sums.  All satiated and happy!

I was sent photos of Vell as I wanted to know how she is doing with the new family. Looking at the photos, I miss her even more but at the same time grateful that she is doing so well. She looks gorgeous, healthy, happy and of course fluffy as always. LOL I was told she likes to chase their chicken and that has become her regular exercise! I am thankful that the family is taking good care of her and keeping her happy.

I couldn't have asked for more. Really.

I do...from time to time, wonder if...she would still remember me...I could only hope she does.

Auckland countdown T-27 days - Goodbye Vell

We gave Vell away today…to good home who we believe can give her a better life. It was hard to let her go. We can’t take her with us as we will be staying in a tiny apartment. There would not be enough space for her to run around.

9 Years! I got her when she was 3 months old and now I have let her go.

The new family has two teenagers, big section for Vell’s exercise and has had experience with dogs. They will treat her well. They will treat her right. She will be happy.

It hurts seeing the empty dog house still standing tall. It hurts seeing her dog bowl lying around. It just hurts…right in the heart.

Goodbye Vell. Thank you for everything you have given me. I will always remember the time we had. You're the best! Be good gal. Treat your new owners right and protect them. You will always be missed.

Auckland countdown T-31 days

Our house will be put on market next week, so been busy to get it all tidy-up. Hopefully the house can fish a new owner soon.

I took a day off yesterday to do a bit of gardening. Those stupid out-of-shape lavenders (who to blame but us!) were quite a job. I thought I could clean them off in 1 hour, heck it took me 3++ hours!!!!

Vell had a grooming session today! First time trying this mobile grooming. Good, easy and convenient!

The little yellow flowers....TAKE 2

Those little yellow flowers that were mowed off couple of weeks ago are now back! This time, it wasn’t me rolling around the front yard, but Vell tottering around……..

On a separate note, I had a shopping spree today. There are sales everywhere, 50%-75% off, don’t think any gal can resist the temptations. I’m good, only bought two numbers. VERY HAPPY!! Hehehehe. Saving $$$ for my BIG SHOPPING SPREE in Singapore!!!!! Muahahahaha, think about it also drool……..

The day she was born.....6 years ago.....

My daughter, Vell is a border collie

(Yes, she bears my surname in her birth cert!)

She is also my bestfriend

She has black & white puffy coat

and a pair of gentle eyes

She is smart, she can differentiate left and right hands
She takes less than an hour to learn a trick,
and a few practices to remember it, for life!

As soon as the backyard's light is on,
she would wait in the kennel for you to lock her up.
She knows it's her bedtime

She is cunning too,
she does all the tricks without your command,
one by one, just for the treat in your hand

She is extremely friendly

Cheerful.....

......and always full of life

She gets greedy when it comes to toys

To her, play is always first, food comes second

She hates noises, try laughing out loud and she barks till dawn
That's also why she hates lawn mower

She is a real attention seeker
She would go around to each person for a pat on her head, round and round....

She eats almost anything, from bone to fruits

That is my sweet, lovely Vell.......

There is this one day of the 365 she gets her BIG BIG dinner

The day that she is truly spoilt.......
