The war of airfares

I have a habit to check out Air New Zealand website for the cheap grab-a-seat airfares everyday, first thing in the morning. They offer this kind of incredibly low price fares everyday, either domestic or international and sometimes both in a day! All are revealed only on the day.

Today, like any other day, I arrived into my office, logged into my pc and went straight to the website. Boy was I stunned when I saw THIS!!!!

Yes, $13 one-way fares on selected Domestic, Tasman and Pacific Island direct flights for one day only. All to be revealed in each hour through the day till 10pm! Man this is torturing, no knowing what is coming up. Oh the $13 is NET hor, all included no hidden cost!! This is a chance hard to come by I tell you. Their normal grab-a-seat fares are around $39-$69 though they had the $1 - $10 deals before, which I missed out. So, today I was so determine to at least grab one, anywhere will do! In this kind of war, there is no time for you to think and plan. You don’t even have time to choose which one you want let alone flipping through the calendar. IT IS A WAR!!!!!!! Nevertheless, I failed terribly. My fingers were so slow like tortoise (no offence to the gentle creature). I just wasn’t fast enough. Very disappointed. I missed out on Auckland, Christchurch, Tauranga and Hamilton.

I didn’t want to give up, I hate to give up. I had 4 more hours to fight once I reached home. I guess practices make perfect. Each failure brings you a step closer to the throne. After much anticipation, I finally managed to grab 2 seats to Dunedin. Although I’ve lived there before, a revisit stills a good way to jot the memories.

Then Rotorua came out. Being a greedy me, I went ahead, got to the last button and eventually gave it up due to the tight travelling period. Finally, all gone 15 mins before the closing time.

So here I am, very happy about my triumph. Now I shall start enjoying some headache planning this trip! Hahaha

I love you, Air New Zealand!

Hi Doreen, Holy Smoke! How the Airlines make money? Ha ha.
But it is cheap....my car cost that much just to go 70 miles!
I only look at airlines sites if having o/seas visitors arriving....
Anyway....hope you get lucky often....You have a nice trip and holiday Doreen.
Oh ya, if free pop over, Lee.
