The Island of Sodor

Glenbrook Vintage Railway was holding a seasonal Thomas and Friends day and we knew it was something AJ would love to go.  They had it in Dec last year while we were away on holiday, so we were so not going to miss it this time.

We didn’t tell AJ where we were going as we wanted to keep it as a surprise.  It was about 1 hour drive from home, and all that we told AJ was we were going shopping in a mall far far away.  LOL.  He got a bit impatience with the long driving, but as soon as he saw Thomas the tank engine from afar, he was at first shocked like he couldn’t believe his eyes (priceless!) then he started shouting “Thomas” non-stop and couldn’t wait to get off the car!  Hahahaha.  He was more excited than visiting the zoo the week before.

The little fella just couldn’t take his eyes of Thomas!  We had a ride on Thomas and also Bulgy the red double decker bus.  There were also a few other life size characters on site for kids to explore.  They had this big white marquee selling Thomas and Friends merchandise/train set as well as two play tables of Thomas and Friends for the kids to play to their heart’s content.  The staff were all dressed up like in Thomas TV series.  I myself was awfully intrigued by the life size trains and thrilled to have a ride on.  It was like we were transported into the fictional Island of Sodor!
