Recapitulation of the week

Just a recap of what I've been doing this week.....

That extra half an inch

Finally laid my hands on this book, That extra half an inch by the style queen Victoria Bechkam. Yeah, I like her, for she has a perfect sense of style and am hoping to get some tips from there......

惡作劇之吻

Finished off this cute and funny Taiwanese series last night. They already started filming sequel, and expect to be out in Nov. I just can't wait!

換換愛

Started this new series by Rainie Yang. I find their poster looks rather familiar...

Yeah, the same idea as the old series by Vivian Hsu, Love Storm.....Geez...their poster designer ran out of idea is it?

Kuih ubi kayu (cassava)

Here comes the food part, kuih ubi kayu. I couldn't get the fresh ubi kayu so had to settle with the frozen ones. The ingredient is very simple - 2 ubi kayu, cup sugar, some coconut cream and water.

The difficult part (or fun part may be?) is the grating of ubi kayu. Mix the grated ubi kayu with the rest of the ingredients together and stir well. Add more water if the mixture is too dry untill it becomes thick dripping, cream like texture.

Steam for 20-25 mins and let cool. Refrigerate overnight is even better. There you are, the yummy kuih ubi kayu.

Better Victoria than Paris, yeah? Haha, I think that would be quite a nice book to read.. And that kuih ubi kayu looks so good! I really have no idea what that is, but it's gorgeous! Victoria would have approved..

I'm a fan of kuih ubi kayu! used to eat quite a bit of it back home.

Victoria Beckham has style, but I still think she's way too skinny... all of them are way to skinny! lol!

What's ubi kayu? Some kind of fruit?

liwan: ubi kayu is called cassava in English. It is some kind of root plant like potato and kumara, just that it has more starch and is more sticky. Chinese is called 木薯 (if you read chinese lah)
