Mt. Ruapehu ski trip - Ohakune

Ohakune, about 4-hour drive from Wellington, is the gateway to the two ski fields on Mt. Ruapehu, namely, Turoa and Whakapapa. It is a ski capital of the north island, also been dubbed as the Carrot Capital of New Zealand. Why Carrot Capital? Beats me! I didn't see any carrot there apart from one giant carrot while entering the town. May be I should also put a giant piggy in front of my house then I can call it the Piggy Home of New Zealand!!!!! Muahahaha. Ok, not funny.

死人路!! You dare?

Thanks for your compliment (^_^)

I don't know the story behind the Deadman Road. I don't think it is anything ghostly or scary. It is a very unusual name.

Hahaha, it sounds so scary hor? I didn't walk into the road. Creepy leh. Hehehehe. Wonder if got people live there. Just imagine telling people:"Hey, I live on Deadman Road!" *shudder*

hahaha, I miss that cartoon leh!

It that is a real carrot, I think can eat for a whole year. Hahaha

You know, I think that is quite a possible reason behind the name. I shall go dig some information.

Thanks PY!
