Day trip to Manawatu - Victoria Esplanade

Ok, enough of the Holland. We continued our journey to our last destination, Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North.

Victoria Esplanade covers an area of 19 hectares adjacent to the Manawatu River. It is the finest park in Palmerston. The park has a small number of aviaries housing both native and exotic birds.

Then we saw this cute miniature train taking passengers around the gardens. 4 of us managed to hop on their last service of the day. The ticket cost just a mere $2 per person!

Here we go...

Going round and round...

I love autumn. The balmy, cooling weather with the blend of golden and crimson hues. As the wind blows, the fall from trees and plants waltz around you and the sound of crispy leaves crunching softly underfoot waft through the air as you strolling along. It is astoundingly romantic!

Parents in law

We took a walk through the award winning Dugald McKenzie Rose Garden which was opened in 1968. I guess we were just in time to enjoy the last sight of roses before they all succumb to the chilly winter.

Sniffing "Michael Angelo"

This is not how I walk (or dance). I was just playing (or bullying?) with the leaves (^_^)

Random question: New Zealand government is passing the anti-smacking law. So smacking your own children will be illegal and parents could be locked in jail for that. What do you think? I think it's craps and absurd! It is my child (if I have one) and I smack when it is deemed necessary. You don't tell me how to teach my child for goodness sake! Since when smacking = abusing?

Well anti smacking is not new.
In States, in australia is alredy in practice.

I guess there are a lot of parents smack their kids out of anger, therefore abusing it. But i think if u do it properly, discretely is ok?

irene: yeah, it's introduced overseas but may be I just cannot accept as I don't think the said law mentions anything about smacking with reasonable grounds. Well, if cannot smack then pinch lor. hehe!
